Fransız basınında yer alan haberlere göre, Paris’in Ile-de-France bölgesinde çiftçiler, Avrupa Birliği (AB) ile Güney Ortak Pazarı (MERCOSUR) arasında imzalanması planlanan serbest ticaret anlaşmasının yanı sıra hükümetin tarım politikalarına karşı protestoları yeniden başlattı.
Fransa’da çiftçileri yaklaşık 1 yıl sonra yeniden eylem yapmaya iten MERCOSUR ve AB arasında serbest ticaret anlaşması planına muhalefet kanadından da tepki geldi.
Solcu Boyun Eğmeyen Fransa (LFI) partili siyasiler, anlaşmanın Ulusal Meclis’te müzakere edilmesini ve hükümetin Fransızların onay vermediği bir anlaşmayı yürürlüğe koymamasını istedi.
Fransız çiftçilerin eylemlerinin, aralık ayının ortasına kadar devam etmesi bekleniyor.
AB ile MERCOSUR arasında serbest ticaret anlaşması, taraflar arasındaki mal ve ürün ticaretinde uygulanan gümrük vergilerinin büyük kısmının kaldırılmasını ve AB ülkelerinin otomotiv, makine, kimya ve tıbbi ürünlerine MERCOSUR tarafından uygulanan gümrük vergi oranlarının düşürülmesini içeriyor.
Anlaşmanın yürürlüğe girmesi halinde AB ve MERCOSUR, çeşitli tarım ürünlerinde yüksek gümrük vergi oranlarını azaltacak ve MERCOSUR ülkeleri AB’ye et, tavuk ve şeker gibi ürünleri daha kolay satabilecek.
